Cody Duncan

Cody Duncan is a travel and landscape photographer based out of Santa Barbara, California.

I am a fan of the use of simplicity in Cody Duncan's work. Duncan's work really captures the beauty of nature through soft colours and beautiful landscapes.

This is my favoutire Cody Duncan photograph as you can see the beautiful landscape of the mountains and the incredible horizon of the sun. I really admire the simplicity of this photograph and  how the figure is in the moment and enjoying the view after, what seems to me, a long day of climbing and all the hard work paying off in the end with this gorgeous view.

Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy, was born in Cheshire 26 July 1956 and lives and works in Scotland. Goldsworthy
is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist producing site-specific sculpture and land art located in natural and urban settings.

As shown in the above mood board I created of some of many Andy Goldsworthy's work, it is evident that Goldsworthy is a very creative individual and he like the use of circles. His work is very bright and vibrant.

The image on the left is one of my favourite work created by Andy Goldsworthy. I really like how Goldsworthy uses various different shaped and coloured leaves to produce this very eye catching and vibrant work in the shape of a circle to follow the pattern and personally makes me as an audience feels happy.

Idris Khan

Idris Khan was born 1978 in Birmingham, England. Khan is an artist based in LondonKhan's work draws from a various range of educational sources including literature, history, art, music and religion to create tightly layered images that is both abstract and metaphoric.

like how Idris Khan layers his photographs on top of another as it has a lot of details and gives the audience a feeling of movement as they follow each photography one by one and keeps the audiences eye busy.

This is one of my favourite Idris Khan photograph as it shows movement and a story. In this image on he left, it shows air through the levitation from the body several images of the figure. The story I get from this photograph is the theme of death demonstrating the figures soul rising from his body and looking over their own body reflection over their own life, it is quite a sad photograph as it shows the soul slowly leaving their body and life gradually.

Ruud Baan

Rudd Baan work of art is an mixture of portrait, sport and fashion photography his technique results in a wide range of work that shows off his ability to master the creativity of colour and energy. Ruud Baan combines all these elements has given Baan a reputation in all of these segments. In addition to this, Baan interestingly captures moments of movement in each of his images which distinguishes his work from others.

I like how Ruud Baan's work is has a very dramatic feel to it and makes me as an audience feel like I can do whatever I want. Baan uses a lot of water, smoke and air to present the drama he is trying to display.

This is my favourite Ruud Baan photograph. I like how Baan demonstrates fear and courage of water in just this single photograph. Courage is shown through the figure's posture as he bravely enters the deep blue water not showing any fear whatsoever. However, surrounded by the figure is the fear of the un-known and not knowing how deep the water is also adds to the fear of water. Furthermore, there is a sense of loneliness in this image because the figure is by himself only surrounded by water. This photo taken by Ruud Baan is the perfect contrast to demonstrate the fear and courage of water.

Cai Guo-Qiang

Cai Guo-Qiang was born December 8, 1957. Guo-Qiang is a Chinese contemporary artist and curator. He currently lives and works in New York City. Cai Guo-Qiang's work symbolises traditions and materials such as fengshuihas and has been selected as a finalist for the 1996 Hugo Boss Prize and won the 48th Venice Biennale International Golden Lion Prize and 2001 CalArts/Alpert Award in the Arts.

I believe that Cai Guo-Qiang's work is very interesting and odd as Guo-Qiang's work is very outside the box and is not something you would see every day.

Fire Mood Board

There are many ways in which I could demonstrate fire, as shown in the below mood board, I can demonstrate fire through cooking, steam and the extraordinary talents people can do with fire. These are all the positive side of this element. However, I can also show the negative side of this element by the destruction in can cause through burning objects. Moreover, I want to capture the simplicity and the beauty of this element i.e. a simple picture of a lit up candle or fireworks.

Air Mood Board

In my mood board for the theme 'Air', I wanted to demonstrate that you can capture air in all sorts of different ways. I want to show in my mood board that you can capture air in simple ways, such as, balloons, wind insturments, wind mills, breathing, etc.
